WE’RE RESTORING LIFE INTO THIS 19TH CENTURY CUTLERY WORKS.

The purpose-built cutlery works dates back to the 19th century. Until just this year the buildings had been used by Taylor’s Eyewitness where skilled craftsmen produced pocket knifes, scissors and kitchen knifes. The buildings are located in the heart of a residential led regeneration project, with the Eyewitness Works bringing a combination of apartments and townhouses that will combine contempory design with years of history.

Take a look at what the works look like now.

The history.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN.

Taylor’s Eyewitness was founded in the early 19th century and the guys have been producing kitchen knives, pocket knives, scissors and sharpeners for over 150 years.

The “Eyewitness” trademark was first registered in 1838 – the inspiration for the choice of “Eyewitness” is believed to be Shakespeare’s line in Henry IV – “No eye hath seen better”.

The future.

WE’RE CREATING DESIGN-LED APARTMENTS THAT COMBINE CONTEMPORY DESIGN WITH YEARS OF HISTORY.

We’re keeping the designs under wraps right now but soon we’ll be releasing further images and floor plans, so sign up to our mailing list below to be the first to hear about it!
